As was to be expected from Alex, and as she had anticipated, she managed to mostly slip into the background. For her, observation was key, not just so she could take in what was being said, but so she could imagine what was not being said. She was bad at this side of communication, even worse than she was at the basic back and forth dynamic. There was also a new person, and that made her uneasy.
Hence, even when mentioned, Alex did her best impression of an 'I'm thinking, but it's just not coming together,' face.
This just meant Alex scrunched her face slightly, pursed her lips, and then gently pushed an index finger into the side of her lips. it was directed towards Diane, accompanied with a slow shake of the head. Hopefully that would be enough.
It looked a little performative, and maybe it was, but it was the best she could do. She simply didn't have enough to say something she would be comfortable with, in such a large group. Alex stood up, and walked over to Faye, and then gently spoke. It wasn't so much a whisper, more of her initiating a private conversation in public. "I... I want to put the." Alex paused. "I want to this in water, I need the volume, and weight."
Alex then turned towards Adam, and with her usual blunt tone simply said. "I think... Maybe it is not good. That... To do that."
It was an opinion, and she did not elaborate. She just turned back to Faye, on the pressing matter of the uncharted dimensions.
