Everyone on Crowhaven Road knows about Connor and his late night "drinking buddies". It's an unspoken "don't ask, don't tell" situation, but he does go out of his way to try to make it easier on the more conservative members of their little community. Everything is quiet, discreet, and when the sun comes up, he's back to being an eligible but forever unavailable bachelor again. Raising a kid is stressful in any situation, but Connor wasn't (and never became) ready for someone like Lugh. He does his best, when and where he can. He learned to cook, got better at cleaning, and put in genuine effort to be the best guardian and father figure he could. The problem is... he's just not that great at it. He likes to drink, to party, to play soccer with his friends on the weekends. His professional carreer was hacked short that night of the storm, and while he doesn't directly blame Lugh for being stuck in New Hope, he's not exactly thrilled about getting stuck running the Tierney family's longstanding landscaping business. That doesn't stop him from having fun, though. Barring Lugh's culinary tamperings with his own birthdays, Connor is always the first to volunteer for cookouts or beach parties for the kids. His lax concept of what's "safe" and "responsible" is typically pretty well received by the kids and what their guardians don't know... probably won't hurt them.
