With Adam gone trying to locate the Master Tools, her summer had been quiet. Sure, she still had her friends in the circle and spent whatever time with them that she could. When she wasn’t with them, she tended to be on her own looking up anything and everything about magic. Now with Adam back and College right around the corner, life was starting to pick up again. Getting ready for the year ahead. Where had the summer gone? She thought to herself.
Today instead of sitting with her head buried in books she decided to hit the road and go for a drive. Leaving her house, she curled her hands around the wheel and took a deep breath. She had no destination in mind, just to drive wherever the universe would take her. Slipping her car into drive she pulled away from her house. Before she knew it, she was miles away from home, roads were quiet. While she had lived here all her life and the town unbearably small, she didn’t recognise where she had gotten herself too. Made her wonder if there was something here for her to find.
Her phone then started buzzing and she lifted it to see the caller ID as her dad. Answering it she put it on speaker before resting it on the passenger’s seat ” Hey Dad. Everything ok?” Diana greeted, ” Hi sweetheart. Just calling to ask if you would do a grocery run on your way home?” He asked her. Diana smiled a little bit before nodding, then quickly realizing that he couldn’t see her nod, ” Yeah sure! No problem! I’ll be home soon.” She agreed. They said their goodbyes and they hung up from each other, "No worries. Drive safe sweetheart..."
Diana then pulled into a side street to turn around to head home. As she turned, she seen it in the corner of her eye. The wheel of the year. A five-pointed pentacle. Instead of turning around she driven closer, allowing herself to see what had bought her here. Stopping right outside she realized it was an occult store. Putting her car into park, slipping out having to see what was inside.
Stepping up to the store the soft scent of incense swirled around her, and she inhaled in the scent. Cedarwood… She thought to herself as she looks around. Two floors the top shelf rows upon rows of books. Downstairs was a little different. An array of tools, blank books of shadows, candles, incense, mirrors, crystals… and the list went on.
The jingle of the bell above the door alerted her presence and someone came from a curtained off area in the back. A young woman, who looked only a few years older than her smiled, ” Blessed be! Feel free to have a look around…” She gestured around the store and Diana smiled… she didn’t have to be told twice.

Brahms sat comfortably in the old wingback chair on the upper level of the small occult store. His fingers traced the textured pages of the book of medicinal herbs and plants he had chosen from the shelves. The scent of aged paper and a hint of cedarwood incense filled the air around him. He was lost in the world of magic and botanical knowledge, oblivious to the hustle and bustle of the store below.
His attire, a collection of vintage Goodwill thrift finds, spoke volumes about his eclectic taste. Wearing a pair of well-worn vintage Levi's and a black pullover button-up Henley shirt, he blended effortlessly with the store's eclectic ambiance. His disheveled dark hair framed his face, and his piercing mahogany eyes remained fixated on the book's pages.
Meanwhile, the girl working at the front counter, an observant guardian of the mystical treasures, kept a watchful eye on Brahm. He had yet to pay for the book he was engrossed in, and her gaze flitted between him and the entrance as Diana came in. The rhythmic jingle of the bell above the door accompanied each newcomer. Still, Brahm remained undisturbed in his exploration of magical secrets.
The soft murmur of voices disturbed the tranquil symphony in the store, and Brahm looked up to spy the radiant visage of Diana Meade. An easy smile reached his lips as he gave her a small wave in acknowledgement. The girl's eyes narrowed slightly when Brahm finally looked up from his reading, his attention momentarily diverted from the book. She took a step forward, ready to remind him of the pending purchase, but after a glance to Diana, changed her mind and busied herself dusting.

Alex walked into the establishment rather quickly, and immediately wrinkled her noise faintly at the bell. She hated that thing, as evident from the way she stopped walking, and looked up at it. It was loud, and in her opinion annoying. She walked up to the side of the door, and watched the mechanism. The girl wore blue jeans, a comfortable enough hoodie (different from the one which had been soaked in alcohol.), and a pair of white sneakers. The outfit was simple, but the jeans were Escada, and the shoes were Prada. The Hoodie was a black Wendy's sponsored promotional giveaway. She had refused to give it up, despite her mother's protests, it was just too comfortable. Which was her motivating factor when purchasing anything.
Back to the bell, Alex stared up at it. It had ruined her walk in, and she didn't like that. Stopping the bell from moving could cause some damage, so instead she focused on the clapper. She looked inside, and figured she just had to mess with that. She reached into her backpack, and pulled out a notepad which was missing plenty of pages. It would be missing one more as she tore out a page, and crumpled it, before stuffing deep as she could into the bell. Alex had to get to her toes, but eventually she managed it. Satisfied, she exited the store, and then walked in. The bell couldn't even make a soft THUNK noise, because of how deeply she had stuffed the paper.
Attempting to talk to her during her plan, and re-entry would have resulted in blatantly being ignored.
However, once she was satisfied with her entry, she looked around. And then, just in case the worker was going to ask. "I don't like the noise the bell made." With that said, she looked around. Not all strangers, so she thought about it... Was she on a greeting basis with these two? Sure.
"Hello, Diana and hello Brahm... Lovely weathe- It's nice to see- Hm... Fancy seeing you here." Alex said, looking at them for a moment, before deciding to wave in a friendly way. "My mom sent me to an errand here, so it's not suspicious I'm here same as you are- at the same time, I mean."

Brahm's dark gaze lifted from the book he was perusing as the familiar sound of the bell was strangely absent. He arched an eyebrow in curiosity, wondering if the store had made some adjustments to its entrance. However, his speculation was interrupted when Alex made her entrance, her disdain for the bell evident in her expression. He watched as she wadded the paper into the bell, and explain her reasoning to the salesgirl.
"Hey, Alex," Brahm greeted her with a small half smile, observing her mismatched attire. Those shoes looked expensive, and had that still new sheen to them. Self-consciously he felt around with his toe for the hole in his own shoes, a ancient hand-me-down pair of boots that had once belonged to his Uncle Aaron. He found her approach to dealing with the bell quite amusing and couldn't help but chuckle. "I see you've found a solution to the bell problem. Resourceful as always."
His gaze lingered on the outsider girl who was working the counter. The teenager seemed perplexed at the situation. Did she sold Alex Lange for messing with the bell, and possibly deal with the aftermath from her father? He could see the wheels turning, processing the information. Ultimately, the girl decided to let it pass and went back to monitoring him with cold, flat eyes.

"Yes." Alex responded, because she was resourceful constantly enough to justify the usage of the word always. She then nodded, of course her head tilting fully downwards. She then looked up again, after spotting the scuffed nature of his shoes. The question wasn't why he was wearing the shoes, her real point of confusion had been why they were so worn. "Did you buy the shoes like that?" Alex asked. "I know some people buy jeans with holes, that the company makes, so the holes are designed by a company. It's edgy and represents the-like-a disregard for capitalism and the establishment." The girl looked up. "Is the shoes your way of rebelling against a thing? Or maybe it's-the shoes are old?" She asked, hand reaching under her sweater to scratch at her belly. Brahm van Tassel Diana Meade

Brahm felt a familiar wave of embarrassment wash over him as Alex scrutinized his worn-out shoes. He kept his face neutral, not wanting to give away too much.
"Nah, not a statement... just old," he replied, trying to downplay any deeper meaning behind the worn-out appearance of his shoes. Her speculation about rebellion and societal statements made him slightly amused. "You sound like Faye, with all that talk about capitalism and the establishment."
He tilted his head, shifting the focus away from his shoes. "Do you have allergies?" Brahm asked, curious about the hand reaching under her sweater, wondering if it was related to some allergic reaction or just a casual scratch. "I could make you a tea to help with that."

Diana looking around the store she raised a hand and waved to Brahm on the top floor of the store. Shelves upon shelves of books and she couldn’t wait to get there. She however started ton the right-hand side of the store and would eventually head over to the left and up the stairs to the book collection. She was looking at the various candles. Various shapes and sizes, all colours, and scents. As she came out of the candle aisle, she seen Alex come in, another coven member.
She smiled at her as she came in, and then she furrowed her eyebrows a little as Alex took offence at the bell above the door. She watched in amusement when she broke the bell. She gave a cautious look back to the shopkeeper, who seemed just as confused as Diana was. In the end the girl didn’t seem to care and went on about her day, keeping one eye on Brahm.
His look certainly did scream delinquent, and the teen looking after the shop was probably making sure that he wasn’t going to try anything. When Alex, finally satisfied with her damage to the bell, finally greeted them both. Diana smiled at her, ” Hi Alex. How are you?” Diana asked her. Still slightly perplexed herself about her actions toward the bell. Annoying it might be it wasn’t her property. But it also wasn’t any of her business.
She smiled a little at Alex’s words. They did sound like something Faye would say. Bramn was quick to get the attention off him and his worn-down shoes by turning it on Alex. Diana then seen this descending into a conversation they where they would both end up digging a hole they couldn’t get out of. Diana decided to bring the topic back around to an interest they all had in common, ” What were you reading?” Diana asked Bramn genuinely interested.

"Oh." Alex just looked on, her face just as neutral, but for her it was just normal of course. She nodded, made sense. It looked old, because it was old. Vastly old, if she were to take all the damage as being created through just... Life. She figured they were inherited, because as hard as his life was she didn't think he'd served in Stalingrad, which is where these boots look like they came from.
"No... You couldn't make- that's not something-." Alex explained, shaking her head softly. Her focus was still on the shoes, really. But, before she could continue her explanation, she felt like she had to address Diana to balance things out. Fortunately, Diana had asked an easy, trained-response type of question.
"I'm fine thanks Diana, and how are you?" She asked, without missing a beat. That being said, she really wanted to get back to the topic of shoes, unfortunately she couldn't. She would have to manage the allergies question, then the tea, then find out how Diana was doing and formulate some kind of response, and then also try to figure out her position in this conversation.
Alex knew what kind of book it was, but she didn't know if it was in her place to answer that for him. She had an inkling it was irritating to some, but she had seen people do it and be met warmly. She played it safe, and let Brahm respond, looking at both. Her hand, under her shift stopped moving, and instead her fingers tips and nails were pressed into the heel of her palm.

Brahm glanced up as Diana greeted him, a small, brief smile on his lips. Responding to her question, he turned the book he was holding, letting her glimpse the cover. It was titled "The Psilocybin Mushroom Bible," adorned with a vibrant array of mushrooms. His mahogany brown eyes flickered momentarily to the vigilant shop girl, who continued to watch him with an eagle-eyed stare.
Nonchalantly, he tucked a small yellow legal notepad and pen into his side, a subtle move that suggested he might be making notes. Adjusting his coat casually, he ensured the notepad remained out of sight. There was a guarded quality to his actions as if he were cautious not to reveal too much about his intentions.
"Hey there, Princess." He greeted Diana. "Did you have a good time at the party?"
